another grout color change question
Hi! I have a grout question, don't know if anyone can help. We just layed a tile floor in the bathroom and used Laticrete Spectra Lock grout. The stuff is awesome unfortunately my wife hates the color. She thinks it's to light. So when we were sponging it after we were wiping some of the grout out of the lines, so they are low. My question is, does anyone know if I can grout over that with another color? I asked them at Lowes and they said that if it was a sanded grout that I would definitely not be able to, but since it's an unsanded high quality grout they think it's possible but told me to call the manufacturer. Well the manufacturer is closed and I was really hoping to get this done tonight otherwise I wont get a chance to do it for a few days. Does anyone know if I can grout right over this spectra lock grout? Thanks for any help!

Those morons don't know SQUAT!! Spectralock is neither a sanded nor an unsanded grout. It's an epoxy!! You want to call Laticrete and make sure, but I believe that so long as you have enough depth to be able to cover the old grout with new Spectralock, you should be okay. You waouldn't be able to do this with conventional sanded or unsanded grout, but like I said, Spectralock's a different story. Their number is (203) 393-0100
