I never heard of making any thing out of railroad ties----The creosote .metal and stones would be kind of rough on a sawyers blades---

Aren't creosote fumes dangerous to breathe?

My dad loved that stuff----It would burn your skin and send you screaming if it got into your eyes!

I got a pretty brutal chemical burn hauling railroad ties around one summer. I was throwing them up on my shoulder and the creosote soaked right into me along with my sweat. It was like the worst sunburn I've ever had.

You don't want to do that! Choose something else.

Imagine the reducer that would be needed at the door way.

So I guess in order to nail this floor down you would use rail road spikes. And don’t forget all those black hand prints on the walls.

Any and all fasteners would have to be predrilled.

What’s the fun in that? A good old sledge hammer and some muscle will get it done…

Creosote is also carcinogenic, so don't let your laboratory rats play on the floor.

Not really!!!

I spent thirteen years building railroad tie retaining walls for the Army Corps of Engineers and I can assure you a good old sledge hammer and some muscle will NOT get it done…

Well if Joe and Sue ever return we will ask them where they got the idea. THAT is a mighty BAD IDEA!
