Air gap under hardwood floor

I had hardwood floors installed on a concrete slab in a high rise apartment. I paid to have the floors leveled prior to the installation so that there would be no gaps under the floor. Needless to say the company I used did not do this and installed the flooring anyway. They are now out of business and I have bouncy floors because the floor did not adhere to the concrete surface in some spots due to various dips in the floor. Can I fix this without ripping up the floor? Can I drill a hole and inject some sort of epoxy? Not real sure. I am pretty handy so I would like to tackle this one myself.

Where I live, you couldn't install hardwood onto concrete without laying down a subfloor such as plywood, etc. first which is needed to staple or cleat the hardwood down.

You can do a floating installation of laminate or even engineered flooring and that would result in the some "air gaps" which is pretty hard to avoid. From the sounds of it, maybe they did a "floating" install of your hardwood which is not a good idea...

How did the installers nail the floor to the concrete? I agree with what was posted before, I've glued and nailed 3/4 ply down first before the hardwood.
