Adding a 1/4" to my floor?

I could use some input/advice. I have about 300 sq feet of a living room/hallway area that I would like to raise the floor height by 1/4". The floor is level, and in good shape. Currently, there is 1/2" plywood sheathing attached to the floor joists, & 3/4" particle board over that. I plan on laying floating laminate flooring on top of this.

Questions: What would you use, 1/4" plywood, or 1/4" OSB? How would you go about attaching it to the current subfloor, screw/nail into the joists, or just 1 1/2" screws through the particle board and into the 1/2" ply? Construction adhesive, yes/no?

Thanks

are you accounting for the thickness of the installed finish flooring when you say you want to add 1/4"?

Good question, and yes I am, the 1/4" is in addition to the 10mm thickness of the laminate.

To bring it up to the same height as my kitchen which is tile, get rid of the "step down" transition into the living room.
