acid staining concrete?

I'm interested in acid staining the concrete floor of my living room and kitchen. It doesn't sound that hard, but I'm not sure if it's a project I should take on myself. Has anyone ever done it?

Have you ever done that before? I tiled a loft concrete floors because the company screwed up the stain and sealing, it is very hard to match everything and seal it properly.
