8" Wide Plank Hardwood... Nail and Glue ???

Hey,

This weekend I will be installing 8" Wide Plank Solid Hardwood Floors , 3/4" thick hand scraped on my main floor , living room, kitchen and dining room (open concept).

What would people recommend just nail or glue and nail??

If someone could give the pros and cons that would be great.

I am laying this over 1/2" ply.

What size nails or glue should I be using ??

Any help would be great.
Thanks in advance!

For something this wide I would nail and glue. I have glued floors like this with both construction adhesive and hardwood flooring adhesive all with no issues. The wood flooring adhesive I generally use is Bostiks Best. Also, be sure to acclimate the flooring properly.

Please tell us there's more then just a 1/2" subfloor!
There needs to be at least 3/4 T & G.

The general rule is to glue and nail any hardwood that is 5" and wider. Just nailing is not enough. What does the manufacturer say?

1/2" subfloor or 1/2" underlayment over a subfloor?
