3/8 engineered flooring installation
I have ordered this flooring,

Schön Engineered 3/8" x 3" Gunstock Oak

The website says glue, float, or nail. I was planning on nailing or stapling. I am not sure which kind of nails or staples to use. I went to home depot tool rental and they said that the staples from a cleat stapler would split 3/8". I am wondering if I should use crown staples or a cleat nailer, the size of nails/staples and such. I also could hand nail with old square nails, as the area is not large. I can't seem to find manufacturers specs or installation recommendations.

Any suggestions or information would be greatly appreciated,

In case anyone else is looking for this information, on another site, it was recommended that I use an 18-20 gauge floor runner stapler. Bostitch LHF97125-2 Floor Runner Laminated Hardwood Flooring Stapler for 1/4-inch to 1/2-inch Flooring: Home…
with 1"-1 13/16" staples installed over 15 lb. saturated roofing felt.

These staples are lighter gauge than the 15-16 gauge cleat staples used for 3/4" hardwood. Has anyone rented such a stapler?

I have one but haven't used it yet.

kind of late to be asking but why didn't you get 3/4" solid if you like oak? it's roughly the same price as what you bought. depot has mohawk 3/4" oak for 2.99 and the same place you linked often runs specials.

floating is definitely the easiest way to install. if you nail or staple it and a board gets damaged in the middle you can't easily replace it. If you float it you can just take it apart til you get to the damaged liece and put a new one in. Before I bought the wood I would read what people have to say about LL. I have read some reviews about them that wasn't favorable towards them. If you do buy from them dont let them sell you more then you need. Many people have tried returning unopened boxes and they wouldn't take them back.
