1/4" Substrate for vinyl flooring? Recommendations?

We are in the progress of renovating our living room, which was slab on grade. We put down the Platon system (HDPE dimpled membrane) with a layer of 1/2" plywood on top and screwed it all into the slab with 2 1/2" tapcon screws at 12" O.C. We were planning on installing a vinyl flooring of some type, but were told we needed another 1/4" underlayment which would be smoother than the plywood, would be stapled at 3" O.C., and would not telegraph seams. Can I just use any 1/4" sanded hardwood plywood for this? Preferably I can get this at Home depot. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Look for underlayment grade plywood. The others may have voids in the plys which can collapse.

Cork would do the trick and give the floor some resiliency. You have enough stability there.

Cork underlayment under vinyl would probably violate the warranty. I would check before you use it.

Cork would be fine for something like laminite but not for vinly flooring.
1/4 Subfloor rated plywood is the way to go.
