Tribute to Harold Sherman

2 Attachment(s)
Harold Sherman, born 10-10-1910, Turned 100 on 10-10-2010.
My wife, (Harold's caregiver), went to his 100th birthday party and met his son Jay and his wife Crystal. Harold passed on January 16th this year, but leaves a legacy of artwork and talent behind for us all to enjoy. Mr. Sherman is uncle to Robert and Richard Sherman, of Disney songwriting fame. (or "Bob" and "Dick", as he called them.) Mr. Sherman also did cartoons, paintings, photography and other forms of artwork throughout his career. In this thread, I'd like to share some things Harold did in different medias, and maybe even some cartoons he drew, both for advertisements and personal joy. Also, some memorabilia from Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang, Mary Poppins and even some personal correspondence with the Sherman brothers!

Perhaps even a small preview of an upcoming new movie (in which one of the characters is named "Uncle Harold")!

I truly hope you enjoy this.

***This one is for you, Harold***

I'll begin with a self-portrait and a photo.

Here's a cartoon he did of the people at his complex trying to figure out why his light didn't work outside his door.

Can anyone think of a good caption?

His last painting was done in 2003. He did continue with other mediums.

Captions?

"How many repairmen does it take to screw in a light bulb?"

"Any MORE bright ideas?"

(in a Disney Goofy voice) "Uh-YUP! It's a light bulb alright!"

Harold was quite an artist DM. You guys must miss him a lot.
