Digging holes Adding mounting brackets Cementing the brackets 1st post in 2nd post with cross beams 3rd post with cross beams Pergola completed Now its time to decide how to light it

Looks like you had some good help, although the trench safety on your jobsite is definately not in OSHA compliance! Looks like the little guy was having fun. I'd light it from the ground shining upward. Might create a neat effect. It would be a shame to hang a light ON the pergola.
