Off Grid Cabin

Hello all

My family and I have been building our dream cabin on a lake here in Ontario. Its off the grid and a water access property, very challenging for sure. I am documenting the process with you tube videos. Please have a look and let me know what you think.

Thanks

Hey all

Now that its getting cooler we have been thinking about heat at the cottage.
I made a video about our new propane cook stove conversion and wood stove install.

Take care

Fantastic, welcome, we are enjoying your build adventure. There are a few people here who have and are building off the grid. Here is one of our members Cocobolo who built on an island out from Vancouver:
Gulf Island Building.

Long read but good.

You can look around and see you are in good company here. We look forward to more videos.

Hi there,

For heating, you might think about a Rocket Mass Heater. I built one for my greenhouse and there is extensive talk about it on several forums like Zero Fossil Fuel and Permies.

You can see my thread about the build starting on page 7 and I have video links as well. 1952 Brick Traditional overhaul
