A while back I ordered new replacement windows for some old drafty doublehungs that I had in the house.
Here is one of the old windows with the tripple tracks.
Inside view. Original to the 1959 build date. Pretty crappy due to the condensation forming on them.
Sashes out, old aluminum balances still in place. You can see the water damage on the sill from where the condensation ran off of the aluminum.
New replacement fitted into opening.
Up close of the fit. Trim and stop will be replaced with Oak to match the window.
From the outside prior to foam insulation and trim.
Up close. The sill has a step in it that I am going to have to deal with. The old windows came out to this point and the new ones do not. When they wrapped the casings with aluminum they did not go in any farther than the step.
