Well, OK so it has been figured out already.

But way back when, there used to be small writing desks that were made which looked similar to this.

If you have ever watched the Antiques Roadshow (English version) you might have seen a Victorian era variety of this.

Was it called a secretary Keith? I think I've seen them in old movies.

To the best of my knowledge, a secretary was actually a full sized unit with considerable storage nooks and crannies above the writing level. The actual writing part was frequently a sloping desktop, which lifted up, and the inside space was used to contain all the writing paraphernalia.

Many years ago I was into antiques in a big way (wife used to have an antique store in North Vancouver).

Some of the American antique secretary's (furniture, not the ladies!) were truly exemplary pieces of the cabinet maker's art and are worth a large fortune. I was going to say small fortune, but some of the pieces run into the millions.

Why, it's my old desktop computer, of course. It needs a new MB, but other than that, it's fine....
I hated the ugly towers and wanted to make something a little different.
I have another model I may share pics of tomorrow. Po)
