This is gonna take a while

Hello everyone, just recently joined because I became so involved in the Gulf Island Building by cocobolo had to sign up so I could post. This building stuff is really interesting to me as we started several years ago and have so many more to go. We are pretty much building as we can afford to instead of borrowing money from the bank. We own 2 lots on the water and already live here, we are building right beside our current home which is nice cause we can walk out the door and be on the job site. We have done all of the work with the help of my dad & mom, and some great friends & neighbors who didn;t mind a little hard work.

this is what we hope for it to look like one day.

This is a view of our lots from the water, we have about 150' of water frontage.

We live in the MH with the brown trim, the blue one is now long gone. We had to cut several of large trees. Wish we could have made use of them like cocobolo does.

Trees down.

Just getting started.......I am in love with trackhoe's, I like any kind of tractors & big trucks but trackhoe's are my all time favorite.

So this is just a few of the start, will be adding more.

Block work finished. After this we put rebar in every some many cells and then poured all of the cells with concrete. Talk about hard work, right in the middle of summer. The room is the corner is our "safe room", all walls are poured & have rebar in them, the top is concrete, with metal beams. Probably not the correct way to explain, I dpn't know all the correct terms the guys use......yall will just have to bare with me as I explain them in girl terms. LOL

this is a shot from the top block which is gonna be close to the view from our main floor once we go on up with the house.
