First Fireplace makeover

A buddy and I fixed up this fireplace of a relative of his. We've never done anything like it but we looked at some pictures and did a little research and away we went. I tried to take some decent pictures, but the lighting was terrible in there. She had a guy come out and tile beforehand, and had another do all the painting. Thought I'd share since I had a hard time finding a setup similar to this on the net, most didn't have a tall hearth.

She had these small glass tiles leftover and wanted to incorporate them in somehow. We ended up building a couple blocks and routering out windows for them.

It looks beautiful. I love the way you set the tile in the center of the wood. Nice work!
