Below are some before/during pictures of my farmhouse rehab project. This is my first house and my first project. The house has an interesting history... the short version: it was moved to it's current foundation from the center of town in the 1930s. It had water damage from burst pipes, termite/ant damage, and some terrible afterthought framing. Generally good structure though. I kept and re-routed the one-pipe steam heat. I lifted and supported a previously-unsupported 19' span in the basement. Then I repaired/replaced rotten/eaten studs, sill & top plates, and whole walls, moved walls to where I want them, replaced all drain and supply plumbing, replaced all wiring and fixtures, and just a ton more work I couldn't possibly list here. All DIY. The only things I've contracted are the insulation (Icynene) and drywall. Thanks to everyone on this forum for help and providing a great database of experience for DIYers! Have a look! I love to talk about this project, so fire off all your questions and comments!!
