Hi there, I just recently purchased a new motor that I was planning on using for a project. However, there was no instruction manual and trying to find information on the manufacturer's website has yielded nothing.
In short, I need to know how to properly wire up this motor so I don't burn it out.
A/C induction motor - split capacitor
Emerson model : K55HXHJT-4626
H/P : 1/10
Voltage : 120
Hz : 60
Amp : 1.4
Phase : 1
RPM : 1135/970
I have three contact wires, red, yellow, and blue.
Red to blue - 16 Ohms
Red to yellow - 15 Ohms
Blue to yellow - 30 Ohms
Ultimately, I intend to have this wired into a small switch box. Thanks for your help.
No markings on the wire? The red and blue are for the two speeds, and the yellow is the common. That's a generalization. The blue would be the ower speed, and the red the higher. You cap off the one you aren't going to use, unless you are using a switch to operate it at either speed. I suggest you contact where you bought it from to verify my suggestions....or take it to a motor shop and ask them.
Do you want it your way or the right way?
