Whirlpool washing machine lid lock

Has anyone found a way to disable the magnetic lid lock on these machines. I hate this thing. It takes so long after pressing the stop button for the lock to release.

Whirlpool washing machine lid lock

Welcome to the forum lil-daddy.

I don't know how to disable it or if it can even be done. Stay tuned, maybe someone on this forum knows of a work around.

If no results here, I'm sure you can google your question and come up with some solutions. Just keep in mind, if it's still under waranty, you may void your waranty if you damage something. Just a thought. Good luck.

Whirlpool washing machine lid lock

You cannot disable the lid locks. The electronic control board monitors and cycles the switches to determine if they are working properly and will disable the washer if they are not. 80% of Whirlpool appliances sold in the U.S. are made in U.S. factories using parts made in the U.S., Mexico, Canada with some parts coming from China. Sears does not make it's Kenmore brand of appliances. They use to sell mainly Whirlpool made appliances but also sell Frigidaire (Electrolux) and now are selling Samsung products.
