Whirlpool washer stops

The washer stops in mid cycle and will not run.
Power to the machine is ok.
Any assistance is appreciated.
Thanks

What is the model number of your washer and how old is it?

Will the washer still agitate?

Will it do anything if you manually move the timer?

Check the lid switch.

If you need a switch for your washer you can get your Whirlpool parts Whirlpool parts here.

Hi,

Lack of info....

Top load, front load, model#?

Stops in the same place all of the time? Where on the dial?
What still works? Stops dead with no noises?

jeff.

Thanks for the response
Top load = yes
Model # LSW97OOPQ0

Just had a similar problem with our 14 year-old washer and my wife was getting frustrated. Meanwhile, based on the advice I read here, I jiggle the lid switch and PRESTO! Back in business.

Thanks for not only saving us a hefty service call and repair bill, but ALSO for making me look like a total home-improvement stud!
