a little more info please. how long does it cool? what do you do to get it to cool again? how old ? does the freezer freeze? what is the freezer temp?

IT WILL GET DOWN TO ABOUT 5 AND SHUT OFF AND WONT START AGAIN AN THEN AFTER A SHORT TIME THERE IT GO AGAIN

so your saying freezer temp gets to about 5 degrees shuts off and then won't restart until it warms up considerably? sounds like maybe a defective cold control. next time you catch if doing its thing, try cranking the control way up and see if it kicks on then
