Whirlpool Refrigerator Dripping from freezer into fridge.
I have about a five year old Whirlpool black fridge, standard size, no icemaker.
The problem is that water is dripping from a drain hole inside the fridge (near the light bulb). I have been catching it in a tupperware container, it is about 1 cup per day or less. It is a standard top freezer unit, the bottom of the freezer also has ice forming on it. What should I do with this unit? Anyone know where the drain tube is, I think it might be clogged? Is it inside the freezer or on the outside of the unit. Thanks, Justin |
The drain/drip pan will be located behind the back wall of the freezer . Should be two-four screws in the corners of freezer back wall. Once you take panel off you should see the evaporator coils and underneath will be your drain/drip pan. Most likely it will be frozen over a soils block of ice running the lenght of the drip pan. Take a hair dryer to it to melt.ice and use hit water to pour into pan and make sure water flows/drains freely . The end of the line will be located behind your fridge at the bottom behind back panel.
