Whirlpool dryer WED5521SQ0 takes too long to dry

I have a Whirlpool dryer model WED5521SQ0 which is about 4.5 yrs old. Lately we noticed that it takes much longer to dry a typical load. What used to take 40-45 mins now takes about twice that. I regularly clean the lint filter and the anti-bird mesh that sits on top of the air exhaust outside. I also help my hand for a few seconds against the exhaust while the dryer machine was running and it was blowing pretty hard. So I think the problem is not with clogging, at least not outside the machine. What else can be wrong? How do i figure out exactly? Do you think this would be worth replacing or is it time to get a new dryer?

Thanks much!

long dry times usually always turn out to be venting problems. I know you said it was blowing good but you do not know if it is enough. You first need to eliminate the possibility of it being a vent problem. Either take the vent all apart and clean it or for a quick check remove the vent from the dryer and try it for a load to see how it drys

Lint can build up inside dryer cabinet too, blocking various air passages. Turn off circuit, unplug dryer, disconnect vent hose, take off back and look around. Brush and vacuum. look in vent hose from this end. Big box store sells a dusting tool that looks like a chimney sweep, handle may be long enough to clean hose. Harbor Freight.....( I'm pausing here) sells a dryer vent hose cleaning kit with extendable handles. It's really not a thing to pay even big orange price for.
This an electric dryer? Does it have same problem on all heat settings? An element may be burned out or disconnected.

So it just has one heat setting? as you sed its probably an air flow problem, probably in out flow. Could be problem with thermostat or moisture sensor.
