Whirlpool Dryer filter

The filter on my new dryer has a strip of felt attached around the bottom and part way up the sides. I can see that it's very useful for preventing excess lint from getting into the ductwork, but the strip started coming loose almost immediately. It's still firmly attached down one side and part way across the bottom, but every time I pull the filter out to clean it, I have to poke the strip back into place. I tried gluing it down with wood glue (that's what I had on hand) and it worked for a few weeks, but now it's coming loose again. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
