Whirlpool Dishwater smells hot

I have a 1992 Whirlpool Quiet Wash Plus dishwasher that recently had a hot smell while running. The dishwasher stopped cycling and water remained in the tub. When I open the door while it is in the run cycle I heard a hissing sound. The coil in the bottom is corroded as is the motor underneath.

not sure exactly what you are asking or wanting help with. The sizzling sound was the heater either trying to heat the wash water to temp or dry your dishes depending on what cycle it was in.
