Whirlpool ADG 710 will not stop

Hi all, I have a Whirlpool ADG 710 that will not stop, have seen mentioned it may be the element. I have a reading of 27 ohms across this, is this to low or OK.
If element is OK any other ideas ??
Thanks in advance.
