washing machine - removal of agitator

Wanting to know how to remove the agitator from a Simpson Espirit 450 washing machine to remove a caught sash.ribbon. The older models, the agitator used to just pop out.

washing machine - removal of agitator

I am not familiar with that particular one, and haven't messed with enough of them to know how common this is, but do know that some models have a small hole near the base of the agitator, through which you can insert a socket, and remove a bolt that holds the agitator in place. If this one has this bolt, and if it's like others that I have seen, you should be able to hold a mirror down there, and see the bolt head through the hole.
