washing machine not getting hot water and not filling in main outlet

What is the problem with my washing machine? It will not fill with hot water and wil not fill from the main outlet. It fills from the detergent add side andwill not change over to the regular fill outlet. It also will not fill with hot water unless I switch the hose to the cold side.

washing machine not getting hot water and not filling in main outlet

58 years old and still have never once used hot water in a washing machine.
It's not needed with modern detergents and just waste hot water.
Are you 100% sure the screens not just pluged up in the hose?
Most likly it's the soinoid valve inside the washer.
If you Google the make and model # lots of parts break downs and self help guides will come up.
