washing machine agitation


I'm fairly sure my washing machine is only agitating in one direction. My clothes end up wrapped around the centre piece of the machine, and it makes a funny noise half the time it's working (not sure how to describe - but it's not a good noise).

Just wondering if this is something I might be able to fix? I have never looked beyond opening the lid of a washing machine...

you need to provide a little more info, brand and model# would be a good start

Yes, Australia. I only realised after I posted my question that the site was from the US! I have done a bit of research and have an idea of where to start anyway. Thanks for the reply.
