washer not spinning water our properly

I have a washer that is about 25 yrs old and it doesnt seem to spin the water out properly every time...doesnt make a difference of load size.....the model no. is la7680xmwo..can anyone help me

Whoa! that's an 'old betsy'. does it always spin? most logical is; belt loose[should deflect from mid-point 1/2"]. or water dripping onto belt from tub leak. great washer but you're on borrowed time.

I had a problem with an infant sock getting into the pump at the bottom of the bin and clogging it... when I removed it my machine started pumping water again. We use a mesh bag for anything small now. The pump could also just be getting worn out and might need to be replaced (which would probably be a big job if you can even find a compatible part).

I just read this article the other day from lifehacker. According to them it might be more price effective to switch to a new energy star model since you've got a pretty old unit. http://lifehacker.com/5873658/what-a...orth-upgrading
