Washer in the bottom of my dishwasher.

A small washer fell into the bottom of my dishwasher. Should I be concerned about the bolt being a hazard or causing any damage to the dishwasher? Thank you.

yes, if it gets down into the pump assy. it could tear up the impellars and probably jam the motor

Kill the power and see if you can disassemble the spray arms and the pump cover. Many, if not all these things have release pieces in them that you squeeze and pull on to take apart. Pay attention to how it is put together and watch for any blades that might be in it to help dice food particles.

I have removed pieces of plastic eating utensils out of some that had been diced up but not expelled.

I have been in a few, never needed tools.

That being said, it has been a few years. I would think they still snap together and only fit one way.
