I jsut got done with a rather long and protracted battle with Viking. I bought a high-end Viking refrigerator, 6 burner stove, and a wall oven. The wall oven has been a disaster. Six months after I bought it, several of the decals began to come off. I only used soap and water to clean the surface per the instructions. The rest of the decals were fine, but when I called Viking, I was told that cosmetic matters only have a 90 day guarantee. And if you want to be able to see what each buttons does, you have to buy a complete new metal panel. Even worse, the oven didn't work. I've had it repaired any number of times under the warrenty. At one point, Viking even had to replace all of the electronics. It still doesn't work and now that it's out of warrenty, Viking wants nothing more to do with it. Their advice was to buy a new Viking oven.
Oddly enough, I'm not going to do that. I'm quite pissed off about the runaround that Viking has given me and the lack of responsibility on their part. I won't buy another of their appliances. I don't mind paying the money for top of the line appliances, but I sure as heck expect that the company will stand behind them. I guess Viking like Sub Zero is trying to live off their reputations and their flashy ads. I'd like to see them put some of that money into quality control and take responsibility when something goes wrong.
