I have a chance to get an Admiral 10 cu. ft. manual defrost upright freezer...for free. Model/serial numbers (and therefore age) unknown.
I'm currently using a 22 cu. ft. G.E. one that I've just learned is a 1980 model. I understand that anything older than 1993 is not energy efficient.
If I find out that the free 10' model is pre-1993 (or whatever its age), how much better off will I be in terms of electricity use and "carbon footprint" damage by downsizing from 22' to 10'?
