Shop Vac

How many people actually replace their filters?

I have a 6.5 HP shop vac and have never replaced the filter....just try to bang out the dust.

When I turn on the shop vac now though, dust comes out of it through seams on the shop vac.

Is this because of the filter?

Probably the filter is causing the problem.

I have a RIGID shop vac. Used it with original filter for 8 months to a year just banging dirt out of the filter. Then got a more expensive microban filter (removes up to 99% of particles less than 1 micron). It is washable in water. Cleans up great. Perfect for drywall, tile etc.

Very happy with this filter and the results.

Suggest you replace your filter with something similar.

Good luck.

Most likely the filter is done. I have Rigid vac with a Cleanstream filter. Works great.
