It serves me right - now my dryer won't work

I switched my dead washer for my working front loader this weekend. I decided to switch the dryers too on the theory that if the old washer broke then the old dryer would probably too.

Hooked up my front loader - all's well.
Hooked up my dryer - got four loads dried then it died.

So either Karma is a b*tch, or something broke. OR, when I opened up the dryer to vacuum out the lint I broke something.

Dryer: Kenmore 110.63932101. Dryer will not run unless 'Push to Start' button is depressed. I used the Diagnostic test and the timer failed. So, it seems like I need a new timer. Is there a way I can confirm this? I know lots of people have had trouble with the 'evenheat' control board. And given my luck, I'm worried I might have to replace that too. How can I figure out what broke?

Sigh. I am definitely getting down about this. :(

Hi,

Often a bad board, relay, temp thermistor, motor....the board being most common.

Yup!

Maybe bypassing a contact in the timer with the wire diagram-tech sheet?

Might help as well...

Timer, PTS button, door, and thermal fuse tested: OK.

Put everything back together, buttoned it up. Pressed the PTS and Ill-be-darned, it runs. I considered myself warned that the control panel may need to be replaced. But, for now, I seem to have gotten lucky.

I assume that either I jarred a connection when I opened it, or the control panel has an intermittent problem. We'll see.

Maybe the motor relay got jiggled?!?
