I am in the market for a Samsung Convection Range. I believe that I have found a pretty good deal on one. It is an out of the box, customer return unit. It has a few(only a few) glass scratches on the top. I have attempted to get the price lowered a bit more because of it but with no luck. The salesman tells me that is "normal" on the top of one because when pans slide across the top that sometimes occurs anyway. Is this the case or am I just getting a sales pitch? I have never had a smoothtop before so I don't know if this is the case or not. Advice?
The unit comes with a standard 1yr warranty with an extended warranty available. Is it worth an extended warranty on a convection oven? New to me as well. Advice?
The unit is a Samsung FTQ387LWGZ. Any opinions on the unit?
I would be very hesitant to buy a customer return unit. as far as the scratches go they do not scratch easily at all, they may get pan marks or rubs but they will generally buff out with cooktop cleaner. by the way that is a very nice unit, I believe they would sell new for around $999, and I would absolutely buy at least a 1 year extended warranty if they back it up.
