Ruud furnace not heating/staying on

Problems with Ruud furnace not staying on. Pilot light comes on, but when blower comes on the pilot light goes out. Also, when the high efficiency thermostat heats to desired temp and goes off, it does not come back on.

You might want to find the model #'s of the equipment you are referring to, this makes things much easier on this end for finding the pertinent information to assist you.

The Model number to our furnace is UGFD06EMEKE. We think it might be in the wiring between the thermostat and furnace.

This statement is confusing, as the thermostat doesn't heat, is what you are trying to say, the furnace cycles until the thermostat is satisfied, but it doesn't cycle again after its off, even when the temperature falls below the set point of the tstat.
Sounds like you have (2) problems, you mention that the furnace doesn't run in the first line, and then in the second ine you say it only runs once and shuts down and won't restart, is this correct?

Have you looked at the control board to see what codes are flashing?

Yes, I was doing some research, as I am not real familiar with your furnace.

Was hoping "beenthere" or "Yuri" would chirp in here they really know there stuff.

Couple of questions

What thermostat do you have?
Have you tried to run the unit as a (2) stage?
Have you tried to cycle power to the unit to clear the faults?

Repairman who put furnace in came over and replaced programmable thermostat with the old-fashioned kind.....works a little better, but we think it's in the wiring between thermostat and furnace. He doesn't think that's it, but we are making him replace wiring anyway to rule it out.

Cool man, or should I say warm man, nice to see you are at least more comfortable and thanks for posting back. We like to see the ending as well as the beginning, even if I wasn't very helpful.

Will post the final outcome! We've been messing with this all week -- the furnace is only about 2 years old and it's ridiculous that the guy who put it in can't seem to figure out what's wrong! Thanks for your input!

Is this a central unit? Split system? In the attic?
