replaced thermocouple on rheem water heater now burner turn off


what is making the burner ti turn off after it lights up for a few minutes

replaced thermocouple on rheem water heater now burner turn off


With a new (and properly installed) thermocouple the pilot light should stay on.
At this point you turn the controls from light (or pilot) to on and turn up the thermostat.

If the pilot light stays on, the valve is in the correct position and the main burner won't ignite...
then the issue is likely the operating valve itself. It happens.
