Reinstalling door hindge on Danby Washer

Attachment 25248I did not realize when I removed the hinge that the self-tapping screws are apparently installed through a plate inside the cabinet which is not secured in place, and I assume has fallen into the cabinet (the screws are not catching on anything).

So, I need to know the simplest way to access the back of the cabinet front to recover the plate and hold it in place to reinstall the hinge. Is there some way to remove the rubber gasket from the front, or do I have to remove the entire front panel... or what?

Thanks.

two ways-1,remove top and see if you can locate plate and then attach it with the two screws you shouldn't have taken out [or should have been there-internet/scratchdent?]. 2, behind that front rubber there's a spring/wire thingie. if you pop that off you can push rubber into cavity and reach plate area...try from top first as the wire on front can sometimes be tricky to reattach.

just looked closer at your picture. see it's been dripping water out the door, guess that's why you took it off..no real fix for that, try new hinge, tweak door, no guarentee either will work.....make sure you're using name brand HE detergent and only a little of that and the vent at the rear is clear.
