refrigerator temperature doesn't change

I have a Maytag Plus side by side refrigerator MSD2748DR with a temperature that hovers around 42 degrees and doesn't change no matter where I set the thermostat. The freezer section is working fine with no problems. If the refrigerator was just keeping water in the garage it wouldn't be a big deal, but besides food we also keep insuline and other medication for home dialysis. The correct temp is important to us. Does anyone have any ideas? Thank you so much for taking your time to read this.
