Refrigerator not cooling enough

Our 10 yr old Kenmore fridge isnt cooling enough. We tried to change the setting and we waited 24 hrs, but its the same. What can we check? We are ready to sell it, but we don't want to sell it in this condition.

If you have a refrigerant leak which I'm almost certain you do than you're going to have to call a refrigeration company out to charge it. More than likely you're going to have to call out a company to diagnose the problem to begin with and at ten years old I'd suspect it's not worth the money.

Let the local skateboarding kids have it, they'll put it to good use.

You'll need a meter to test amp draw on the compressor to see if it's running as it should and you'll need refrigerant gauges (specific to what refrigerant your fridge uses such as the possible 134) and hope you have service ports to connect to.

It's really not all that easy to simply just check without the correct tools.

I shut off the unit from the inside. It turns off so fans are working ok. Now it's just a matter of testing it properly.

first things first,
1) check the evap coil for frost build up
2) check the condenser coil for lint and what not
If your freezer temp is ok then I quarantee it is not a freon problem, most likely a defrost problem
