Refrigerator in basement for food storage?

Is it okay to put refrigerator in basement instead of garage? We do use a dehumidifier in basement. The garage seems too cold in winter and too hot in summer plus it takes up room. Will the basement have an effect on compressor or condenser? Thanks for reading and any suggestions.

You can put a fridge on your roof if you want. I would tie it down though.

I'm not entirely sure what your concerns are, but people have been placing fridges in basements for eons with no issues. What are you worried about?

I wasn't sure about humidity. Would the refrigerator give off heat and create more moisture?

your spare refrig would be better off in your basement rather than your garage. It will be fine , a little extra heat but nothing to be concerned about

I don't believe there is moisture exchange between the inside and out of a refrigerator, only heat. It shouldn't add humidity.
