Putting a dishwasher in

I'm thinking about buying a new house but one issue with the kitchen is that there is no dishwasher. There's really no room near the sink to remove lower cabinets and install a dishwasher. Do I have any options? I know I'm not giving much detail, I'm just curious to see if it's possible.

Thanks

Any thing is possible....with money and know-how
Dishwashers are located away from sink areas all the time
It's just easier to tie into the supply and drain when you're close by a sink.
Putting in a DW in another location will mean a separate supply and waste.

Call a Licensed plumber and have him evaluate the idea.
Do you have access from below?

Thanks tcleve. I'm not sure if the basement extends all the way to the kitchen, I'm thinking it does not. I was in the house once, the other day. If not I would definitely have to hire a plumber.

Is the kitchen area on a slab?

I believe so. It's on the back of the house and in being in the basement, I think it stops before the kitchen.

So let me go back one step....
I have run plumbing through the backs of cabinets to get to the sink cabinet.
Drawer cabs sometimes have enough clearance in the back to allow for plumbing.
Base cabinets can have a false back applied after the plumbing is in...or not.

Again....anything is possible

oh yeah, don't forget.... Mr Sparky has to get in there, too.

Thanks for the help tcleve. I think the best thing would be to get in there and get all details and see what I'm dealing with. Will repost when I have more info.

Thanks again.
