propane hot water heater

I need a new one, and I need one that vents out the side of the house and not through a chimney. What kind of options do I have? I don't want to spend for a tankless because of the old, small diameter plumbing lines in the house. Should I just go with electric?

You need a power vent model. These have a small blower that pushes the exhaust out.

They're more expensive than an electric model but since they have a faster recover rate you can often use a smaller size.

Looks like I will be going for an electric water heater. Power vent is expensive, don't know how long we will be owning the home, can't put a vent through a rim joist without a power vent, etc. My choice I would live here forever, but wife has other plans. I can always do it later, buy a couple hundred dollar electric and call it good for now. Thanks for the help.
