oil fumes

Not really answers but some things to check before calling a repairman.

Do the fumes go away when the circulation blower starts?

I once thought we had a crack in the heat exchanger but upon removing the access to the inspection / cleanout for the exchanger I had found the repair man had not replaced a broken gasket.

Are there any obstructions in the flue pipe or chimney?

How full is you fuel tank?

On an older furnace we use to have it would stink when nearing the bottom of the tank. I don't notice this on the newer furnace.
