natural gas to propane conversion

We bought a gas stove and coverted it to propane.I converted the regulater, installed the LP orfice spuds, adjusted the burner orfices and adjusted the air shutters. The problem is when I try to adjust the surface burners thier seems to be too much gas or pressure when trying to set the burners on high after adjusting the flame. I can only get the setting to about half way and the flame is at least 1 inch off the orfice ,if Itry turning up the burner more the burner blows out.Any help would be greatly apprciated. The stove is a GE Profile XL44 thanks,Brian
