my washer wont wash


help i have a whirlpool roper washer and it fills with water but it wont agitate ,drain or nothing. what would you suggest..its a top loader.ive tried unplugging it and reconnecting it,playing with the different cycles but still nothing........

sounds like a bad lid switch
