Microwave = toast?

My Sharp microwave made a few funny sounds (according to the wife), then a few sparks inside. Upon inspection, the removeable metalic coated fiber plate in the roof had a burnt spot near the site of the sparks. Upon removal, there really isn't anything behind the plate. Is this a sign of a toatal microwave failure, or an easy repair?

thanks!

Usually caused by grease spots. Replace the cover if you can find it.

Thanks, Hardwareman. Sounds like a new cover is worth a try.
