Microwave no heat
 

I have a GE built in combo oven/microwave that is not heating. All other functions are working. I think it's the magnatron. Is there a way I can test this with a digital multimeter?

How old is the unit?

Be careful that high voltage transformer, and diode/ capacitor can pack up to 3000 VDC.

Probably cheaper to buy a new unit. Once one thing goes out, usually everything else will go. By the time you realize what is going on, you have $200 in an old unit.

The unit was purchased in 2002. I agree with jcalvin. I would not mess with it except the micro and oven is one piece. Also, thanks for the safety warning. I am aware of the voltage but I don't kmow how to discharge it and then test it.
