Melting glue between paper

What is the best way to melt glue. Old baseball cards were glued to paper and need to separate without damaging baseball card.

Melting glue between paper

First thing that comes to my mind if wax paper and iron to heat the glue. May depend on the kind of glue/adhesive and paper. If the cards had much value, I would research it more.

Sounds like a tricky situation.

P.S. Something very thin to carefully push between the card and paper if the glue starts to soften/release.

Just tossing something out there. I have never had a situation with cards like this.
