Maytag wash machine leak

My wash machine just sprung a sudden and major leak. It's coming from
inside the washer, not from an attached hose. There are several drain holes in the bottom of the machine where the water is coming out.

The model is MAH6500AWW. I'm not sure how old it is, but no more than about ten years.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

It's a front load machine, but I agree - will try to open it up.

I know it is a front load machine. The front comes off with the removal of 4 screws. If it is leaking that bad it should be very obvious when you open it up. Probably the tub to pump hose has a hole.

Maytag wash machine leak

Wow - this seems surprisingly easy. You're right, it was easy to take off the door. Once I got it off, the problem is obvious. The small black tubing had come apart, and I could easily put back in place, as shown in the pictures. There's a green clip on there that doesn't seem to be doing anything. I'm thinking of just taping over the fitting to hold it in place.

Its quite easy to repair washing machines. I do the repair on our machine too. You just have to have the guts on trying it yourself but not the wirings. I know nothing about electrical matters. That i will leave to the electricians...

You don't have it in far enough. the collar on hose fits into the collar on bellows- then put the clamp on.... if that hose is all slimey and deteriorating you might want to replace it.

Who ever installed the hose, did not pull the clip over. If it does not hold it, get a screw down hose clamp to replace that spring clip. Fernco's work wonders also.

Maybe something bad, maybe something good. I guess we'll never know, 'cause you're going to guard it. You won't touch it, will you?

I agree, I don't think the clip was ever on there right. Got it resolved and am running my first load now. Picture is attached, with the hose pushed on much further and the clamp now over the joint area.

I truly believed I would have to get a new machine. Thanks for the advice!!!
